Despite the sudden changes in the weather, it is Spring and the time of year when we can all do a little purging from our closets. It’s an annual ritual at our house. Project Spring Cleaning! I dump all winter clothes from *Tech and *Shyne’s closet in a big pile and sort what I’ll keep for *Chase and *LadyBug then I move on to their closet and dump everything from the past season in the big donate pile.
It’s amazing how fast my little ones grow, but it’s fun to see them fitting into their next clothes sizes, even when they’re not always ready to part with favorite pieces. That’s when I explain someone else is waiting to wear the clothes they’ve taken such good care of!
I always want my children to know to value and importance of helping others through service like donation. It’s something we can all easily do and feel good about because donating your unwanted belongings to Goodwill can impact the economy and change lives in your local community. Donated clothes impacts the economy you ask? That’s right. Donating just one bag of clothes to Goodwill equals hours of valuable on-the-job training for someone in your community.
